Mustang Field Opened at Homestead High With Fanfare; Tribute Paid to Famous Alum Jobs

Steve Wozniak, another famous alumni of Homestead, on hand for grand opening.

The brand was officially opened Friday night amidst much fanfare, and even included the appearance of one of the school's most famous alumni, Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple.

Just two days earlier the school's most famous alumni ever, Steve Jobs, Wozniak's original partner in the iconic computer company, had lost his battle to cancer. Principal Graham Clark led the crowd in a moment of silence for Jobs.

Despite being in mourning for his lost friend, Wozniak beamed proudly and waved to the crowd from his seat in the bleachers as he was introduced during the ceremony. He graciously spent much of the game with students who waited patiently to pose for a photograph with him, get an autograph, or just talk for a few moments with the legendary personal computer inventor.
