LAHS Student of the Month: Adron Mason

Congratulations to Los Altos High's October 2011 Student of the Month, Adron Mason. The provided this information to Patch.

Adron has made huge contributions to the school by being the President of Green Team, Managing Editor of Lit Mag, co-president of the Ultimate Frisbee Club, and running track and cross-country, all while maintaining a GPA of 4.8.

Adron has been a member of Green Team for 2 years, and is the president this year. His passion for the environment has inspired him to dedicate much of his time to helping the environment through various programs. Last year, he was selected to attend the Youth Environmental Conference, where he stayed near Tahoe with other high school students and discussed environmental issues. He also spent his summer volunteering at Deer Hollow farm in Mountain View as a counselor where he worked with kids and taught them about the environment.

Adron is also the Managing Editor of Literary Magazine. Lit Mag is a student run magazine that is published twice yearly and features all types of student work, from writing and poetry to art and photography.

He is also the co-president of the Ultimate Frisbee Club. The Ultimate Frisbee Club aims to bring students together through fun and friendly competition. They will be starting lunchtime games soon.

Adron also runs track and cross-country. He has been a part of both all four years. He is a distance runner, and his favorite event is the mile.

Next year, Adron hopes to study Environmental Science at Pomona College in southern California. We wish Adron the best of luck in his future and are positive that he will excel wherever his passions and studies take him. We are very proud of his accomplishments during his years at Los Altos and congratulate Adron on being our October Student of the Month!
