Steve Jobs’ Childhood Home Gets Historical Designation

The home is still owned by Jobs' sister.

The middle class home at 2066 Crist Drive in Los Altos looks like your typical post-war, single family home. The architecture is nothing special.

It’s what happened there that is extraordinary—and landed historical designation for the home.

It’s where Steve Jobs gathered the Homebrew Computer Club and where the first Apple computers were designed and built by hand.

Monday night, the Los Altos Historical Commission voted to declare the home a historic resource.
