Should Steve Jobs' Home Receive Historical Designation?

The Los Altos Historical Commission is expected to decide before the end of the year.

Written by Bea Karnes

The Los Altos Historical Commission continues to grapple with the idea of declaring Steve Jobs’ boyhood home an historical property.

The home at 2066 Crist Drive is your typical, mid-century ranch-style home—nothing fancy. But it’s what happened at the home that’s worth noting. The original Apple computers were built there—first, inside, and then banished to the garage in true Silicon Valley fashion.

The commission discussed the proposal at its September meeting but no decision was made.
