Last Free Summer Concerts

With many schools back in session, this is it for free music nearby. Dance away the evening in Mountain View, or catch some jazz at Stanford Shopping Center.

The sad news is that despite summer's official end in September, schools are starting now, making this the unofficial end of the summer season. The good news is you can catch one last gasp of local fun, free summer concerts tonight.

If you're in the mood to dance, head on over to downtown Mountain View for The Groove Kings, hailed as the "South Bay's Premiere Dance Party Band". The group will be performing at the intersection of Castro and Dana streets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bring a picnic dinner, folding chairs or blankets to sit on.

Or if jazz is more your thing, see Le Jazz Hot Quartet at the Stanford Shopping Center, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Find out more at the San Francisco Jazz website.
