An Evening with Jose Antonio Vargas

Jose Antonio Vargas will talk about his career, show clips from “The Other City” and answer questions from the audience.

A Fundraiser for Child AIDS Prevention in Liberia, proceeds from the event will help provide life-saving drugs, educational counseling and support for clinics in Liberia through the Los Altos Rotary AIDS Project, in partnership with Global Strategies for HIV Prevention and the Rotary Club of Sinkor.

Mountain View High School graduate, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and senior contributing editor with the Huffington Post, Jose Antonio Vargas, is a former Washington Post reporter.  Jose wrote a series of articles on HIV/AIDS that inspired him to write and co-produce the documentary film, “The Other City,” about HIV/AIDS in Washington, D.C.. The film premiered at the New York Tribeca Film Festival in 2010.  Most recently, Jose profiled Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg for The New Yorker.
