Lisen Stromberg is an award-winning writer who has written essays, reviews, and articles for magazines and newspapers, both on-line and off. Her interests include a wide range of issues and topical areas from contemporary literature to the state of abstinence only education, from parenting to gender identity, from the national political arena to the politics of barbecuing in her own backyard.

She began writing in 1999 and has been published in a variety of venues including Newsweek, Salon, Mothering Magazine, and others. She is a regular contributor to BlogHer.com and Patch.com. She won the Gold Medal of Excellence in the Personal Essay Category from Northwestern University's McGill School of Journalism and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) awarded her Best Magazine column. She has also won awards for her creative non-fiction. 

Before launching her writing career, Lisen spent nearly twenty years working in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. She was a Brand Manager at Nestle Corporation and a Vice President at Foote, Cone, Belding advertising agency. As President of Durham Marketing Group, she worked with high technology start-ups on their strategic business and marketing plans. In 1999, she co-founded with Dr. William Pollock, Supporting Our Sons, a national non-profit advocating on behalf of boys. She served as its Chairman of the Board and President until 2004.

In addition to her role as Chairman of the Board of Supporting Our Sons, Lisen has served on the boards of Planned Parenthood Golden Gate, WebOrder, Inc., and the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo. Lisen has her B.A. from Dartmouth College and her M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley and her M.F.A. from Mills College. She lives with her husband and three children in the San Francisco Bay Area.
