I started as a photojournalist almost 40 years ago, B.C. (Before Cellphones). I have seen such profound changes in the news media that I used to live and breathe but now prefer to contribute on a freelance basis. The camera has also gone through a metamorphosis from film to megapixels. Yet despite the shrinking size of the point-and-shoot cameras in your average cellphone, the professional camera is still as heavy and bulky as the first time I picked one up – some things never seem to change. My mission is still the same too: Allow the picture to tell the story and never do a firing squad shot (Line them up against the wall and shoot them).
