Hi Barbara,
The format for the Hillside Book Group has changed somewhat. People interested in joining should call Karen Euston. Here isthe updated description:
"The Hillside Book Group is composed of approximately ten dedicated readers who participate in a monthly discussion of literary fiction. We are committed to a careful reading of each book, readiness to participate, and regular attendance. The discussion is open and informal, with an implicit contract to share the floor and respect and invite the views of others.
We meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month, from 7:30 - 9:00 pm, at the Hillside Club. In recent months we have read and discussed The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet, by David Mitchell, The Imperfectionists, by Tom Rachman, The Second Coming, by Walker Percy, The Housekeeper and the Professor, by Yoko Ogawa, To the End of the Land, by David Grossman, and Let the Great World Spin, by Colum McCann.
We welcome new members as space permits. If you are interested in joining the group you may call Karen Euston at 510-540-5992

Hi, Barbara --
Please fix the listing for the U.C. Alumni Chorus concert on Nov. 12. The venue and price are wrong. It is in Hertz Hall and there is a charge from $6 to $20, depending on the status of the attendee. Please check your original source for details. Thanks!

Dear Barbara,
Thank you for posting the information about our Triple Anniversary Jubilee on Patch.
There are several errors in the listing:
1. The event is not free.
2. The event is open to ALL church members.
3. Title is "Triple Anniversary Jubilee".
Please feel free to shoot me an email about any event you'd like to post. I'll do my best to answer you ASAP.
Regards,
Lisa Harrington

Dear Barbara Wilcox and Patch,
We're delighted you picked up the news that we are recruiting 1911-style suffragists to march in the Berkeley Historical Society group in the Solano Stroll the morning of Sunday, September 11, but it's a bit confusing to give the Center Street address and say event is starting now. We're recruiting now and the event in Sept. 11. The "place" to sign up is electronic--berkeleywomenvote@gmail.com.
All welcome to join us--just get in touch!
