Anabel Pelham, Neighbor

I was the only strawberry blonde baby girl in the hosptial in Maui, Hawaii where I was born. I am the first daugher of a large family and my father was a Navy fighter pilot and later the chief of security at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. My mother was an only child of a southern California family with pioneer roots.

I lived in San Francisco for almost 30 years before moving to Los Altos. I am a professor at San Francisco State University, Social Scientist and specialize in Gerontology, Age-Friendly cites, and internaitonal aging. I have developed a recent inerest in compassion and forgiveness as core values in human health and peaceful communities and have lectured on the topic in Ireland. I am president of the National Association for Professional Gerontologists, founded in Los Altos.

I am an avid world traveler but my condo in downtown Los Altos is home. I am single, blessed with wonderful friends and family and almost limitless energy. I am running for Los Altos City Council.
