Brandi Chastain Helps Honor Two for Work with Youth

Kimberly Castro, youth resources manager for the City of Mountain View, and MVHS soccer player Sonia Nigam receive 'Champions for Youth Awards.'

The Mountain View-Los Altos Challenge Team recognized on Tuesday two individuals for their work with at-risk youth. With the help of Two-time World Cup and three-time Olympic gold medalist Brandi Chastain, the Challenge Team honored at their annual "Champions for Youth Awards" breakfast, the Youth Resources Manager for the City of Mountain View Kimberly Castro and Mountain View High School soccer player Sonia Nigam, one of the co-directors of the Kick Lead Dream summer camp. As part of her duties for the city, Castro works to create fun, educational and team-building programming for youth and helps advise the Youth Activities Committee. Video: Giants Home Opener With Bryan Stow's Son

Tyler Stow threw out the first pitch, officially beginning the Giants' season at its home opener on Friday.

Hold it together while you watch this one. Although it was rumored that Bryan Stow would appear at AT&T Park for the San Francisco Giants' home opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday, he couldn't appear in person. The first pitch thrown out by Stow's son Tyler. Stow, the Santa Cruz County resident and Santa Clara County EMT who was badly beaten on Opening Day in Los Angeles last year, appeared on screen with his mother to wish Tyler good luck. Ex-LAHS Baseball Player Returns Home After 'Cheap Shot' and Threats

Austin O'Such, a 2010 graduate and Los Altos Hills resident, suspended after on-field incident on Mar. 29, 2012 in Prescott, AZ.

A former outfielder for the Los Altos High Eagles baseball team, recently suspended from college, has returned home after a controversial Youtube video surfaced and went viral of him running into another player after a game. The 2010 graduate, Austin O'Such has received threats, according to the local ABC station in Prescott, AZ. In their interview with the Yavapai Community College Athletic Director, Scott Farnsworth said that O'Such felt remorseful and had a "lapse of judgment." Farnsworth recommended that O'Such return home, which he did on Monday. The incident took place at the end of a Mar. 29th baseball game where after leading 6-0, the Roughriders lost 9-8 to the Scottsdale Community College Artichokes. The College and Athletic …
