A limited number of horses also graze there.</p> <p>Donated by Albert Byrne in 1967 to the Nature Conservancy, the preserve was used to establish the Albert Byrne Charitable Foundation of the Nature Conservancy. It was purchased by the town of Los Altos Hills in 1968 for $99,500. Part of the agreement required the town to provide a link from the Byrne Preserve to the 1,600-acre Hidden Villa open space property. Together, the corridor and the Byrne preserve total about 90 acres.</p>
