Korda Moda Photography Exhibit & Lecture

Diana Dîaz López, Korda’s daughter and head of the Korda Estate, and Foothill College Photography Instructor Ron Herman, curator of the exhibition, will discuss the life and photographs of Alberto Korda with a special screening of the short film Simply Korda. The free lecture is from 6 to 7 p.m. in Room 1501. The exhibit opening reception is Oct 2 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the KCI Gallery.

Silicon Valley Astronomy Lecture Series

Astrophysical theorist Eliot Quataert, Ph.D., of the University of California, Berkeley, will discuss How the Universe Went from Smooth to Lumpy: The Modern Origins Story, an illustrated, non-technical lecture, 7 p.m. in the Smithwick Theatre at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. Admission is free.

Author Event with Cat Valente of "Fairyland" Series

Author visit and book talk with Catherynne M. Valente, creator of the popular “Fairyland” series whose latest work is, “The Girl Who Soared Over Fairyland and Cut the Moon in Two.”  7 p.m. at Linden Tree Books.

October LAYC Dance

LAYC Dance for middle school students. A place for young teens to dance, hang-out with friends, and have fun. All LAYC Dances take place in the LAYC Building located at 1 N San Antonio Road, Los Altos from 7:30-10 pm.
