Volunteers Needed for Los Altos Art Docents
Are you artistically inclined? Enjoy working with children? It's time to volunteer for this school year.
[Editor's Note: Los Altos Art Docents is seeking new volunteers. An informational meeting will be held Aug. 28 at 10 am, LASD District Office]
The Los Altos Art Docents are actively seeking new recruits to help us meet the demands of our ever-growing school district. No experience with teaching? No artistic talent? No problem – we will train you! Once trained, we ask our volunteers to commit to teach once a week in the classroom during the school year. The real reward, however comes from walking into a classroom in that iconic red apron and seeing eager faces light. It comes from seeing the pride on a child's face as she masters a new clay technique. Or the look in a child's eyes when he discovers something about a painting. If you don't have time to volunteer as an Art Docent, volunteer to help in your child's classroom when there is an Art Docent lesson being taught. All help is appreciated.
