Weekend on Tap: Kiddie Beat Concert to Shakespeare

Get a jump on your weekend grocery shopping at the Farmers Market on State Street in downtown Los Altos, before heading over to Grant Park to see children's entertainer Oklin Bloodworth perform. And that's just for starters!

Where/When: State Street, between 2nd and Main streets, Los Altos / 4 to 8 p.m. 

Why Go: Find a good selection of fresh fruit, veggies, ranch eggs, bakery items, unique prepared foods, and fresh-cut flowers. Help preserve the environment by bringing your own bag.

Where/When: Grant Park, Los Altos / Thursday, 6:30-8 p.m.

Why Go: Grab the kids, and enjoy a music and songfest in a kiddie beat by children’s entertainer Oklin Bloodworth.  Bring a blanket and let the kids dance!

FRIDAY, July 27

3. STANFORD JAZZ FESTIVAL

Where/When: Stanford University, in five venues Dinkelspiel, Campbell Recital Hall / Friday, 6 p.m.

Why Go: The Jazz Residency Showcase is a collection of more than 200 professional and rising stars in the jazz world performing a various venues. Enjoy jazz combos and vocalists performing everything from cool jazz to bebop, standards, and original compositions.

SATURDAY 

4.  (Henry V)

Why Go: Get your Bard fix either Saturday or Sunday, as the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival presents Henry V for two nights this weekend. The festival describes it as "an exciting tale about the rise of a young king and the glories and costs of war," and the young king "struggles with self-doubt, sagging morale, cruel treachery, and the crazy antics of his old friends Nym and Pisto!"
