Get Out, Los Altos: Stride, Ride, Sing, Listen!

This weekend, in the warm-up to the 4th of July holiday, you can learn how to move your body, watch others tear up the loop road at Foothill College, hear a choir, then participate in an international exchange, or hear some blues on the lawn.

 

Summer is in full swing and do we have a weekend for you! Los Altos Patch explores fun stuff to do in Los Altos and beyond.

Where/When: Central Plaza, downtown Los Altos / Saturday, June 30 

Why Go: If you've ever wanted to try out NEW activities, our local fitness studios, sports goods stores and health product stores are pulling out all the stops for you to watch or try out for free (it's more fun that way). There's lots for kids (a mobile skatepark, bicycle rode, bouncy house and more) and adults (pilates, Zumba, triathalon-in-place).

Where/When: , 12345 S. El Monte Road / Sunday, July 1, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Foothill College's ring road offers a great 1.09 mile circuit race course, that is great for participants as well as spectators. All categories, from youths 10-18, to adults can race, provided they have a USA Cycling license, available. See for more information. 

Price: Free for spectators, though parking is $3, exact amount in bills or quarters.

Where/When: Los Gatos Civic Center Lawn, 110 E. Main St./ Sunday, July 1, 5-7 p.m.

Why Go: Los Gatos' 25th annual summer music series is worth a Sunday drive to the West Valley. Blues, soul and gospel singer Sista Monica is slated for this weekend's performance, and the summer's lineup is eclectic. Check the town website for rules on everything from reserving lawn space to parking.

Where / When: / Sunday, July 1, 4:30-7 p.m.

Why Go: Hear the youth choir and Los Altos High School's talented Main Street Singers, enage in international exchange, and get dinner in beautiful Shoup Park, all in one event! This Los Altos Sister City relationship has been a long and fruitful one. The Main Street Singers just made a tour of this suburban town outside of .

Price: $20 for adults, kids are free, includes dinner
