Gentle Yoga

Every Monday, from 11am to noon, Firefly Willows hosts a Gentle Yoga class lead by Jordan Kersten. If you are interested in yoga but have been too intimidated the challenging poses, or have held off due to injury, this may be the class for you. In this class, yoga poses typically done on a mat are modified with use of a chair. Most of the poses are done seated in the chair, or standing while using the chair for support. This helps prevent injury in weak joints and allows tighter limbs to stretch more gently. The poses help enhance flexibility, increase circulation, and promote healthy deep breathing. My students come from all types of physical backgrounds, so regardless of your perception of your abilities, this class can be appropriate for you.
