Foothill College hosts its inaugural Learning Curve Bike Circuit Race, at which some 400 cyclists are expected to peddle around the 1.09-mile campus loop road, Sunday, July 31. Spectator admission is free. Online registration is ongoing at www.foothillcollegecircuitrace.com. Race-day registration opens at 7:15 a.m. The first race begins at 8 a.m., and additional race start times will be scattered throughout the day until the last race at 3:25 p.m. The race will be held under USAC rules.
The all-day event is a fundraiser and proceeds will be used to create a multi-use bike and pedestrian path that encircles the 122-acre campus in Los Altos Hills. Foothill College is teaming up with the Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club and Team TIBCO II to present the race.
Racer categories include juniors, elite men, elite women and masters. The entry fee per race for juniors (age 10-18) is $15; entry fee for all others is $30 per race. Online registration is available at www.foothillcollegecircuitrace.com. A $10-late fee will be charged after July 28 and on race day. Participants must present a current USA Cycling License at registration. A one-day or annual license may be purchased via online registration as well as on race day. There are no refunds. Parking Lots 1, 2, 3 and 7 provide easy access to the race registration area at the Campus Center pedestrian bridge. Purchase required parking permit for $2 from yellow dispensers in any student lot.
