BOYS SOCCER: Los Altos Eliminated by Top Seed in CCS Playoffs
Burlingame defeats LA in quarters;moves on to semifinal round.
The Los Altos High boys soccer team season came to an end Saturday morning at the hands of the Central Coast Section Boys Soccer Division II No. 1 seed Burlingame High.
Burlingame defeated Los Altos 2-1 on a frigid weekend morning at Gunn High in Palo Alto. Burlingame's lone first half goal came from George Markoulakis, a senior midfielder, with 26:58 remaining in the half.

Los Altos defeated Lincoln High-San on Wednesday in penalty kicks. After 80 minutes and two 10-minute overtime sessions resulted in a scoreless draw, the game shifted into PK's.
The Eagles eventually survived--winning (12-11 PK's)-- on the very same day that the Eagles girls soccer team also moved on to the next round via the extra session.

Burlingame will face off against Archbishop Mitty Prep-San Jose on Tuesday afternoon at Gilroy High.
Los Altos finishes the season with an 11-7-2 record.
