Los Altos High junior Luke Wiechec pitched a complete game and nearly came away with a shutout as the Los Altos baseball team defeated Los Gatos High 2-1 in a 2011 Central Coast Section Division II quarterfinal baseball playoff Saturday afternoon at PAL field in San Jose.
A solo home run from Los Gatos senior third baseman Hayden Hibberd that sailed over the fence in left was the lone blemish during the wire-to-wire effort by the Los Altos hurler.

Simon Rosenbaum doubled early on in the game and later scored off an infield error to give Los Altos a 1-0 advantage.
Rosenbaum tacked on an RBI single in the sixth inning to double the Eagles advantage to 2-0 going into the final inning of play.
