November's student believes in Random Acts of Kindness (she's co-president of the club), tutoring young students, and soccer. Lots of soccer (both high school and independent club).

Congratulations to Los Altos High's November 2011 Student of the Month, Sasha Pchenitchnikova. The provided this information to Patch. Pchenitchnikova will be honored at the Nov. 7 school board meeting.

is proud to present Sasha Pchenitchnikova as November’s Student of the Month.

With three Advanced Placement classes, Sasha still finds time to be involved in numerous things here on campus. One of her biggest involvements is in the Random Acts of Kindness club. Sasha has been a part of this club all four years at Los Altos. Last year she was the treasurer, and this year she serves as their co-president. Currently, she is working to plan RAK week in April, which is part of a national Random Acts of Kindness week. She also hopes to plan something for November.

Sasha is also a very active leader of both her class, and the school as a whole. She has been a part of 2012 class council all four years. She was also a part of the Associated Student Body during sophomore and junior year, where she served as student store commissioner.

She also has dedicated a class period to tutoring other students. During 2nd period every day, Sasha volunteers as an opportunity tutor, working with younger students to help them develop valuable organizational and study skills.

Sasha also has a passion for soccer. She has been playing since age 4 on both club and school teams. Here at Los Altos, she has been on varsity for all four years, and was a captain last year. When she is not playing at school, she plays club soccer on a very successful team called the Alpine Pumas in Redwood City.

Last year, instead of sitting at home, Sasha spent her summer volunteering in Fiji through an organization she found online. In Fiji, she lived with a host family- the chief of the village and his family-and spent her time renovating an elementary school. She also taught English to kids at the school.

Next year, Sasha hopes to go off to college to study biology and health at University of California-Los Angeles or UC-Davis. She was inspired by the Biology Advance Placement class, which she took last year, to study public health. She hopes to spread education about health around the world in the future.

We wish her the best of luck in her endeavors, and are confident that she will be successful. We are very proud of her achievements and congratulate Sasha
on being Student of the Month!
