What To Expect At Monday’s School Board Meeting

The Los Altos School District board plans to discuss changes and highlights for the start of a new school year, honor a staff member, and more, at tonight's meeting at 7 p.m.

The start of a new school year, new curriculum highlights, and a staff award are all in the spotlight for Monday night's Los Altos School District Board of Trustees meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Board Room at 201 Covington Road in Los Altos.

District officials and teachers across all nine schools are gearing up for the start of a fresh new school year, and that includes an overview of new aspects of the 2011-12 curriculum by Alyssa Gallagher, assistant superintendent of instruction, to take place at the board meeting.

Gallagher, along with Superintendent Jeff Baier and Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Randall Kenyon, will also update the board and the public on staff changes and student enrollment. Preliminary STAR testing results will follow.

The school board will meet in closed session at 6 p.m. to discuss ongoing litigation with Bullis Charter School and ongoing negotiations with staff unions.
