LASD to Go on Live Webcast in Fall
The Los Altos School District board voted to take up the Los Altos City Council's offer, with the help of grant money, to pay to launch live webcasts of school board meetings.

The board voted to move forward with webcasting its meetings, taking up an offer by the City of Los Altos to purchase intial equipment the first year of operations.
The city will pay for approximately $25,000 worth of equipment and other startup costs out of its public access funding, and the cost of running the first year.

The school district would be responsible for each year’s costs going forward, averaging seven to ten thousand dollars per year, according to Superintendent Jeff Baier.
It is common, nowadays, to expect to watch legislative bodies such as the Los Altos City Council, Los Altos Hills Town Council and the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors via webcasting. School districts appear to be trying to find a way to do the same.
