The first LivingHomes structure, designed by Kappe, was the first home ever to be certified LEED Platinum. Eight other LivingHomes have received LEED Platinum certification. TheLivingHomes recently completed in Los Altos are also expected to be certified LEED Platinum. Now in its third season, the six-month architecture lecture series brings some of the best architects and scholars in California to Los Altos to discuss traditions and trends in modern living.

This year’s theme is Sustainability, which is addressed in many contexts. “We often provide the only regional access to these speakers”, says King Lear, Neutra House Director. “Our speakers appreciate the depth of knowledge and range of interest of our participants, who come from communities throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area.”

Participants with an interest in traditions and trends in modern architecture and design have a rare opportunity to interact in a casual setting.
