GROWING AN EARTH DAY GARDEN

With Jody Main

Celebrate Earth Day by starting an 'organic' veggie garden! We can plant spring crops including lettuces, carrots and beets... and we can begin our summer planting including tomatoes, peppers and beans. For gardens large and small, plant a Native American "Three Sisters Garden" by planting corn, beans and squash this month! Class includes soil preparation, planting instructions and harvest techniques. Jody will prepare and share a special EARTH DAY SALAD with lettuce, herbs and edible flowers from her organic garden. Plant list and recipes are included. Jody is a local organic food and garden writer, educator and consultant. Her specialty is designing gardens that include vegetables, herbs and berries.
