For Los Altans and Los Altos Hills residents, who attend schools in several different districts, that means any one of several might be the beneficiary—, , ,  or Fremont Union High School District.

Here’s how the contest works. Beginning Dec. 8, and continuing through Dec. 26, you can nominate your home by entering here: http://deckthehouse.patch.com/contest/losaltos

During that same time period you and your neighbors can vote for your favorite decorated home. The winning entry will be forwarded to a national Patch judge who will select 24 finalists. Each finalist receives $500 that can be applied to the December electric bill.

From Dec. 30 through Jan. 8 you will be able to vote for the "Best Decked House" in all of Patch. The grand prize winner’s school district will receive a $100,000 check from Patch!

So, get out your lights and ladders and your competitive spirit! We want you to dress up your house in the name of good cheer and kids' schools. It's fun to do and it'll give that extra-special feeling as we make our way around town at night, at the minimum.
