Downton-esque Homes Garner National Attention

Think mansions are only fit for Europeans? Check out Los Altos' own Morgan Estate for a bit of Downton Abbey by the bay.

A recent article from Yahoo about Downton Abbey has gone viral, and what sets this apart is its comparison to the local Morgan Estate at 12335 Stonebrook Drive.

From the article:
The Morgan Estate, also known as Stonebrook, is a historic Tudor dating back to the early 1900s when Percy Morgan, one of the original trustees for Stanford University and the founder of the California Wine Association, immigrated to the U.S. from England. Today, it's a coveted piece of Los Altos real estate that's been beautifully restored with a secret, Prohibition-era bar and great room with 20-foot ceilings.

The bay is home to many mansions throughout the years including the Haas-Lilienthal House, the Winchester House, the Villa Montalvo. Looking for weekend plans? Visit William Randolph Hearst's Castle down in Big Sur.
