You Can Vote This Weekend, Indeed!

Early voting and mail-in ballot drop-off is available this weekend in San Jose at the Registrar of Voters Office, which has special weekend hours.

You've got it all figured out. So, why wait 'til Tuesday?

Both early voting and mail-in ballot drop-off are available Sunday at the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters Office now. Traffic is light on the weekend.

Here's where to go:

  • For early voting, you can go to the Registrar's Office at 1555 Berger Drive, Building 2, in San Jose. Election workers are staffing the office 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The secure mail-in ballot drop box is located in the parking lot between Buildings 1 and 2 at 1555 Berger Drive.

Voters should not be mailing their ballots at this late a date, Elma Rosas, spokeswoman for the Registrar of Voters said Friday. Ballots postmarked before Election Day will not be counted if they do not arrive by Election Day. Mail-in ballot voters should be hand-delivering to a drop-box at this time.

"We have beautiful weather, and it's so easy, there's no excuse not to vote," said Julie Grisham of Santa Clara, who stopped by the Registrar's Office earlier this week to cast her ballot.

And, then there was the main reason.

"There's so much at stake," she said.
