What's Open and What's Closed on Veterans Day, Nov. 11

Many government institutions and banks are closed Friday. But the good news is, downtown will have the welcome mat out for 'Holiday Stroll' beginning at 5 p.m.

Veteran’s Day, is a federal and state holiday.  Most government offices and schools are closed. However, some government services are operational such as county transit.

Closed:

  • Santa Clara County Government Offices
  • Los Altos City Hall
  • Los Altos Hills Town Hall
  • U.S. Post Offices
  • Los Altos School District
  • Mountain View-Los Altos High School District
  • Cupertino Union School District
  • Fremont Union High School District
  • Los Altos and Woodland libraries
  • Most, if not all banks

  • VTA
  • Greenwaste will operate on its usual schedule
  • Mission Trail Waste System will follow its regular schedule.
  • Most retail businesses; "Holiday Stroll" in downtown Los Altos features festive tidbits and beverages inside participating merchants' stores, 5-9 p.m.
