Thanks, Mayor Summit! Congratulations, Mayor Larsen!

The last Los Altos Hills Town Council meeting of 2011 ushered in a new mayor, Rich Larsen.

The Los Altos Hills Town Council said thank you to Mayor Ginger Summit, and welcomed its new mayor, Rich Larsen Wednesday night.

Council member Gary Waldeck was appointed Mayor Pro Tem.

Speeding through its last agenda for 2011, the council's special meeting took a bit over one hour. Among the actions, the council extended time allowed for staff to work with Stanford University on the controversial retaining wall of the proposed Arastradero Trail. It designated Council member Jean Mordo to negotiate on its behalf concerning the gap in library services received and property tax contribued to the library district.

In recognizing outgoing Mayor Ginger Summit's service, which included forming a Traffic Safety Commitee to address many concerns that had been bubbling about bicycle riding behavior, pedestrian and equestian  

Then, it was onward, to the reception.
