Other facts

I have served on the PHWD board since 2009, and have taken leadership on several key issues facing the district including high costs and water supply. I have recently helped redirect PHWD’s search for additional water sources from “possibly available” but high cost sources to a search for lower cost water. While more difficult to find, this may make sense economically.

I also led PHWD’s effort to allocate the capital costs related to fire flow requirements, which represent over half the annual capital, to the Los Altos Hills County Fire District, so that PHWD would be primarily responsible for the capital required for the drinking water operations. I currently serve on two cost reduction committees: one with two Town council members, to benchmark the district’s costs and prices, and the other to reach out to neighboring water agencies to see if we can achieve improved scale economies.

I am a management consultant in the electronics industry, have been a resident of Los Altos Hills since 1986.
