Simitian to Hold 'Friend-Raiser,' Honor Local Figures Sunday

The campaign event will take place in Mountain View. Among those involved and being honored are Mountain View City Councilwoman Margaret Abe-Koga, and Becky Morgan and Gerry Steinberg of Los Altos Hills.

State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) will hold a "Friend-Raiser" event in Mountain View Sunday to both kick off his campaign for the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, and to honor local women who have served as District Five supervisors in the past.

The event is free, and open to all "friends of Simitian" who wish to support his campaign.

"After 12 years in the Legislature, the Board of Supervisors represents a great opportunity to get back to the satisfaction of getting the job done here at home," said Simitian. "It's challenging and important work - health care, welfare, public safety, regional land use, and more."
