Section of Hwy 101 to Close in Early Hours of Sunday Morning

Highway 101 between San Antonio Road and Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto will close between 4 a.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday morning for minor repairs.

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will briefly shut down U.S. Highway 101 in Mountain View and Palo Alto on Sunday morning to install new utility lines.

The closure is estimated to be 15 minutes in duration and will occur sometime between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., between San Antonio Road and Oregon Expressway, in both directions.

Crews will remove existing utility lines and place new ones as part of the U.S. 101 Auxiliary Lanes Project, which aims to improve congestion in the area, according to the VTA.
