Palo Alto Voting on Joint Dispatch With Los Altos, MV

The three cities of Mountain View, Palo Alto and Los Altos plan to pool funds to purchase and share a public safety technology platform and dispatch services in an effort to improve efficiency and save money.

Palo Alto Weekly's Gennady Sheyner reports that the cities discovered that what began as a move to save money, will actually improve response times, remove redundancies and communicate better through the dispatch platform and mobile applications.

Tuesday, Palo Alto will vote, followed by Los Altos on Feb. 28. Mountain View has already approved it on Jan. 24.
