Various roads will be temporarily closed around the Alameda de las Pulgas and Valparaiso areas, according to Atherton police Lieutenant Joe Wade.

“The Secret Service offers us limited information and provides details up to the last few hours,” Wade said.

Residents who know the fundraiser hosts say to avoid Walsh Road west of Alameda de las Pulgas and Serrano Drive between Stockbridge Avenue and Selby Lane.

In addition, police say Valparaiso Avenue will be closed on the northeast (bay) side of the Alameda. Protesters will rally to pressure Obama to refuse to approve the controversial Keystone XL pipeline, a project which would bring crude oil from tar sands in Canada down to oil refineries on the Gulf coast.  The location of the demonstration is on the uphill side of Valparaiso, near the fire station.  Law enforcement will have a street closures in place.

To get to destinations on Valparaiso's southern side, detour by going south (uphill) on Sharon Road or Avy Avenue, then turning north right) onto Altshul Avenue, which runs parallel to the Alameda. Valparaiso intersects with Altshul.

President Obama will be in San Francisco Wednesday night at another fundraiser houses of asset manager Tom Steyer, as well as philanthropists Ann and Gordon Getty.

The cheapest tickets to see the president are $1,000 at the Goldman residence.  The most expensive will be the price of brunch at the Heising and Simons residence, with tickets running $32,400 each.

Can't get enough of the POTUS? Patch will be in Atherton to cover the President's arrival. Stay tuned.
