New Lawsuit Over Cell Tower in Los Altos Neighborhood

Whitman Avenue neighbors sue over January county board approval of 55-foot tower on residential property overlooking Interstate 280.

Neighbors on Whitman Avenue are suing the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors over a vote in January approving a cellphone tower at the home of Marshall Jackson.

The Los Altos Town Crier has an update on the recent writ of mandate filed against the county, challenging the board's decision and halting construction of the tower.

Patch covered the when supervisors actually approved two 55-foot towers, in a move to reduce the existing number of towers on Jackson's property from three to two, just west of the Los Altos Golf and Country Club. County attorneys later amended the decision to one tower, requiring Jackson to start a new process for the second tower.
