Meet Courtenay Corrigan, Appointee to the Los Altos Hills Town Council

Courtenay C. Corrigan is a former Pathways Committee member. With John Harpootlian and incumbent Mayor Rich Larsen, she is one of three appointees to the Los Altos Hills Town Council.

Editor's note: Los Altos Patch invited all candidates for office to submit basic information about themselves for our Election 2012 coverage. With exactly three candidates for three open seats on the Los Altos Town Council, the Council voted last month to cancel the election and appoint all three candidates. Since people will not have an opportunity to meet these appointees on the campaign trail, we are publishing profiles of two of the three. The third, Rich Larsen, is already well-known to residents.

Other facts

Mom of three boys ages 10, 8 and 5. Served on LAH Pathways Committee for 6 years.

Statement: Los Altos Hills' magic is the serene retreat found here, at the doorstep of Silicon Valley. The bedrock of our town is its rural charm and its strong community.

My highest priorities is maintaining our town's character and maintaining its fiscal solvency. To that effort I bring wisdom and leadership running my own legal staffing firm for ten years. I know from experience how to listen, reflect and lead others. Six years on the LAH Pathways Committee, balancing Town planning and homeowners' rights, has made me a skille d collaborator and consensus builder. Having built my own home here, I understand both sides.

I have young children and am used to balancing motherhood and volunteerism. My children motivate me — they will inherit the results of my work. I have served on the Board of the Young Entrepreneur's Organization, the Randall Children's Museum, Palo Alto Jr. Museum, Children's Corner Preschool, S.F. Symphony and worked for the American Cancer Society, Vista Center for the Blind, Children's Health Council and local schools.

I will work tirelessly to preserve the respite we find and value in Los Altos Hills. It would be an honor to serve.
