Los Altos Council: Pepper, Satterlee & Bruins Swearing-In Is Tuesday Night

Jarrett Fishpaw ascends to mayor and the Los Altos City Council welcomes newcomers Jan Pepper and Jeannie Bruins. Megan Satterlee begins her second term.

 

It is the end-of-the-year changing of the guard at 7 p.m., in the Los Altos Community Chambers Tuesday night.

Mayor Val Carpenter opens the special meeting of the Los Altos City Council Tuesday night and Jarrett Fishpaw is expected to close it, after the council follows custom of electing the mayor pro tempore as its new mayor.

The council also bids goodbye to council members David Casas and Ron Packard, who have reached their term limits, and recognizes them for their service.

With the Santa Clara County Registrar's of Voters Office making its official certification of the Nov. 6 election results voting results Tuesday, the council can hold its swearing-in ceremony.

Jan Pepper, who won the most votes in the six-candidate race, and Jeannie Bruin, who finished with the third spot, are the new council members. The council welcomes back Megan Satterlee, who was re-elected for a second term.
