Listeria Threat: Veggie Patch Recalls 2 Products

Possible contamination of Listeria monocytogenes prompts the action, but no illnesses have been reported.

 

Check your refrigerator and freezer for foods from Veggie Patch. The company is recalling two products because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Veggie Patch Falafel was distributed nationwide, while Veggie Patch Meatless Burgers were only sold in in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Indiana, Wisconsin, Virginia, New Jersey, and Delaware. (The information is being included in case you ate them while visiting out-of-state.)

No illnesses have been reported. Veggie Patch reported the problem to the FDA following routine testing.

Veggie Patch Falafel has a “use by” date of January 15, 2013. The product has a UPC number of 6-10129-06619-3 on the back of the package.

Veggie Patch The Ultimate Meatless Burger has a “use by” date of January 12, 2013. The product has a UPC number of 6-10129-00211-5 on the back of the package.

Both products were sold in 9 ounce trays.
