Statement of Laura Casas Frier Candidate for Governing Board, Foothill-De Anza Community College District Occupation: Incumbent Education and Qualifications: I am currently Vice-President of the Foothill-De Anza Community College District’s Board of Trustees, Member of the Audit and Finance Committee and Board Member since 2006. I also member of the state wide California Community College League Board.

During my tenure, the state gave the district outstanding evaluations, even as our funding was cut $20,000 million. As Board Member, I strive to continue delivering a while maintaining academic excellence and effective and judicious management of renovation, construction and technology projects. Clear academic goals at the community college level promote readiness for university academics, with emphasis in the areas if science, technology, engineering and math.

A community college education is not only about access to an education but about success in education. I will keep supporting programs that ready students for the workforce or promote transfer to a four-year university.
