Get a Preview of the Senior Questionnaire Results on Thursday Night or Friday

Get in the know and nosh a bit, too, Senior Committee says, with refreshments or a low-cost BBQ.

Want to know what the hundreds of Los Altos and Los Altos Hills seniors thought when asked for their needs and druthers?

Do it over refreshments. Preliminary results will be shared at two events, one in just a couple of hours, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night at the Neutra House and the other at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Hillview Community Center.

"This evening's event is given by the Los Altos/Los Altos Hills Senior Commission as a 'thank you' for all of the residents that responded to our questionaire," said Gabrielle Tiemann, a member of the commission.

All ages are welcome to attend, she added.

In January, the Commission asked residents of both communities to answer a 24-question survey to help the cities plan for future transportation, recreation and daily needs. Transportation, for example, has surfaced as a big concern, Los Altos Hills Mayor Ginger Summit mentioned in her report to the Town Council last week.

Commission Chair Karen Jenney will make some remarks and the commission will have a streaming video showing how it compiled the data, Tiemann.

If you miss it Thursday night, a second opportunity will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Los Altos Senior Center. If you want to join in on the center's barbeque at noon, bring $8, Tiemann said.

Drop-ins are welcome, and a call in advance to help organizers plan for the number of refreshments and chairs is appreciated, she said. Call 650-947-2797.
