Don't Wait in DMV Lines, Assemblyman Gordon Says

Why stand in line? Assemblyman Rich Gordon promotes a new video explaining how online services help cuts that DMV waiting time for everything from getting an appointment to changing your address.

Assemblyman Rich Gordon (D - Menlo Park) and Assemblymember Brian Jones (R – Santee) released a Public Service Announcement (PSA) to encourage all Californians to utilize the Department of Motor Vehicle’s (DMV) online services.

In a budget subcommittee hearing last year, DMV promoted its online services as a way to minimize congestion in DMV field offices and meet a growing demand for DMV services.

Use of DMV’s online appointment center and other online services alleviate much of the customer wait times, however, these tools often go unused, his office said.

With the message “Don’t wait in line; save time and go online,” Assemblymembers Gordon and Jones participated in the following PSA to encourage Californians to utilize DMV’s online services, including: car registration renewal, driver license renewal, change of address, and scheduling appointments.
