Thursday Night Meeting: Planning and Traffic Commissions Proposed to Merge

A City Council committee will meet with the Planning Commission, Traffic Commission, and Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee to discuss changes from the original options presented Nov. 8

A special ad-hoc committee of the City Council will meet Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the creation of a Planning and Transportation Commission.

The proposal would consolidate the Planning Commission and the Traffic Commission. Additionally, it would create a Design Review Commission that reports directly to the City Council.

It calls for keeping the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC), but restructuring to report directly to the proposed Planning and Transportation Commission

And it would disband the Board of Adjustments and Architecture and Site Review that currently reports to the Planning Commission.

Coincidentally, this meeting will be followed by a special meeting of the Traffic Commission, in its last meeting of the year, to discuss the transportation impact analysis for the proposed 40 Main Street project.
