Activists Plan Los Altos Rally During President Obama's Visit

The rally, organized by MoveOn.org, is an attempt to pressure President Obama to "live up to his promise to defend Net Neutrality," according to organizers.

Wednesday, July 23 at 9:30 A.M.

RALLY TO SAVE THE INTERNET.

MOVEON.ORG MEMBERS AND ALLIES WILL GATHER IN LOS ALTOS TO URGE PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA TO UPHOLD "NET  NEUTRALITY" AND ESTABLISH THE INTERNET AS A PUBLIC UTILITY. MEET AT CORNER OF SOUTH SAN ANTONIO ROAD AND WEST EDITH STREET, LOS ALTOS.

From a MoveOn.org statement:

"On Wednesday, July 23, progressive activists from more than a dozen grassroots organizations will gather outside a high-profile fundraiser with President Obama and tech industry leaders to call on President Obama to protect Net Neutrality."

"The rally, organized by MoveOn.org Political Action and Free Press, will pressure President Obama to live up to his promise to defend Net Neutrality, currently under threat by a proposal, from an FCC chair appointed by the president, that would divide the Internet into fast lanes for wealthy corporations and slow lanes for the rest of us."
