UPDATE: Cause of Death of Woman Found in Apartment Could Take Weeks

A 35-year-old female was found in an apartment unconscious and later pronounced dead Sunday night.

It could be as long as a month before a cause of death is determined for a 35-year-old female who died in a Redwood City apartment Sunday night.

Police responded to the report of an unconscious woman found in an apartment in the 1100 block of 2nd Avenue around 11 p.m. Sunday night.

Paramedics responded and tried to revive the woman, but she was pronounced dead at 11:31 p.m.

Lt. Sean Hart of the Redwood City Police told Patch Tuesday that the woman was discovered by a tenant of the building, and he called 9-1-1.

Lt. Hart said they are not able to reveal many details of the investigation into her death at this point, but he told Patch there were "no obvious signs of trauma" on her body.

"An autopsy and a toxicology report will be done," he said, but the results could take as long as a month.

The woman's identity has not yet been released.

Patch will continue to follow this story.
