Two Alarm Fire in Los Altos Hills

The residents have been burned out of their home less than a week before Christmas.

Updated:
A large home sustained "significant" damage in a two-alarm fire in Los Altos Hills Thursday evening, a fire battalion chief said.

The two-story, 3,300-square-foot home on Newbridge Drive was 70 percent involved with flames when firefighters arrived just before 5 p.m., Santa Clara County fire Battalion Chief Brian Glass said.

It took firefighters about an hour to control the blaze, which caused significant damage to the home.

No other homes were threatened and the fire did not spread to any surrounding vegetation, Glass said.

Two residents were displaced and there were no injuries, Glass said.

The cause is under investigation.
