Top 6 in Los Altos Crime: The Independence Day Weekend Bonus Edition

Yes, normally it's called "Top 5 in Los Altos Crime," but we've just had a long holiday weekend. Ask the police!

And of course fireworks are illegal in Los Altos, but with the three-day  weekend and plenty of time leading up to July 4th, you can bet fireworks calls were at the top of the list Sunday and Monday.

Noise complaints from a variety of sources, accidents, drivers behaving badly, and plain old behaving badly, rounded out the weekend.

1. Ka-boom! Totally illegal Fireworks 

July 3

• 8:27 p.m., 1600 block of Christina Drive; Fireworks in area, officers responded, information only
• 8:41 p.m., 300 block of Lundada Drive; Report of fireworks going off in the area; Quiet on arrival and departure
• 9:32 p.m., 2000 block of Scott Lane; Report of fireworks going off in the area; offiders responded, unable to locate

July 4

• 12:09 a.m.; 100 block of South gordon Way; fireworks going off in the area
• 10:47 p.m.; 100 block of Portola Avenue, fireworks seen in the area, officers responded, unfounded
• 11:24 p.m.; Sierra Ventura Dr./Via Huerta, fireworks heard in the area, officers responded, gone on arrival
• 11:33 p.m.; 1900 block of Deodara Drive, Fireworks heard in the area, officers responded, gone on arrival

2. Keep it down, will ya?

• July 1, 7:00 p.m., Construction noise complaint, 100 block of Los Altos Avenue Police responded, information only 
• July 1, 7:22 p.m., Construction noise complaint, 300 block of Monterey Place; Police responded, information only 
• July 1, 9:11 p.m., Barking dog complaint, 1900 block of Colleen Drive, quiet on arrival and qiet on departure
• July 1, 10:34 p.m., Noisy animal, 200 block of Yerba Buena Avenue; barking dog—violation card left
  
• July 1, 12:16 a.m., Gunshots heard, 2000 block of Deodara Drive; Report of possible shots fired in the area; officers checked tha tarea and were unable to locate anything
• July 2, 12;26 a.m., Noise complaint, 700 block of Filip Road, Reprimand and released
• July 2, 10:33 a.m., Construction noise complaint, 900 block of Campbell Avenue; Construction causing a disturbance—unfounded
• July 2, Noise complaint, July 4, 6:55 p.m.; Noise complaint, 500 block of Los Niños Way; Officer made contact and music turned down
• July 3, 11:01 p.m., Noise complaint, 900 block of Crooked Creek Drive; loud party, officer responded, reprimand and released
• July 4, 7:47 p.m., 100 block of Portola Avenue, construction noise complaint, Officer responded and made contact; information only
• 10:27 p.m., 00 block of Sunkist Lane, barking dog complaint; officer responded and made contact, information only
• 11:50 p.m., noise complaint, 300 block of Angela Court; loud party, officers responded and made contact, information only

4. Crashes and mishaps

• July 1, Non-injury Accident, 2:16 p.m., Plaza south & Third Street; Report of vehicle ccident, one of the vehicled parked unoccupied, unable to locate the registered owner; a note was left
• July 1, Tree down; 3:00 p.m., Second Street & Plaza South; Tree down onto vehicles, report taken
• July 4, 5:29 p.m.; Minor Injury accident, 911, Cuesta Drive & /Shelby Lane Accident, minor injury

5. Drivers behaving badly 

• July 1, 9:32 a.m., Driving on a suspended license, N. San Antonio Road & Jordan Avenue; subject driving on a suspended license. Vehicle impounded and driver cited.

• July 5, 12:03 a.m., Reckless Driver, 800 block of Altos Oaks; Report of vehicle racing, officer responded, unable to locate
