Top 5 in Los Altos Crime: Oct. 13

Noise complaints, welfare checks and 911 hangups kept the Los Altos Police busy on Thursday.

The following information was supplied by the Los Altos Police Department. Wherever arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. A full report for the week will follow on Saturday.

 

1. Municipal Code Calls

- 1:12 p.m., Springer Road and Cuesta Drive; Officers received a call about a man selling fruit on the street without a permit. Officers responded but were unable to locate the man in the area.

- 1:22 p.m., 400 Block of University Avenue; Officers received a report of two large dogs off their leash in the park.

2. 911 Hangups

- 10:01 p.m., 200 Block of 2nd Street; A call to 911 was received from an open line. Officers were unable to reach anyone when they called back.

- 11:55 p.m., 1000 Block of Fremont Avenue; A call to 911 was received from an open line. Officers were unable to reach anyone when they called back.

3. Noise Complaints

- 7:07 p.m., 1800 Block of Fallen Leaf Lane; Officers received a noise complaint at a residence. Officers cleared the situation and no report was filed. 

- 2:31 a.m., Oct. 14, 1600 Block of Kingston Court; Officers responded to a report  of a loud barking dog. Area was quiet upon officers' arrival and departure. 

4. Welfare Checks

- 4:10 p.m., 4800 Block of El Camino Real; Officers responded to a report of a subject possibly intoxicated. Officers found no one matching the description.

- 2:35 a.m., Oct. 14, 1700 Block of Selig Lane; Officers received a request to check on a subject someone believed may attempt suicide.

5. Non-Injury Accident

- 6:16 a.m., Alvarado Avenue and San Antonio Road; Officers assisted with parties' name exchange.
