Top 5 in Los Altos Crime: Noisy Graduation Night Events, Argument Over a Cellphone and More

Police responded to noise complaints, a hit-and-run accident and a fallen tree, and accepted a weapon and ammo for destruction.

A loud party and other noisy events were going on around town Friday evening—was it a coincidence that it was also a busy graduation night?

Also in the top five police events this weekend: a non-injury hit-and-run accident, a dispute over a cellphone, a fallen tree, and guns and ammunition that were turned in to be destroyed.

1.     7:39 and 9:50 p.m. Friday, 1:15 and 3:37 a.m. Saturday Police were called twice Friday night to the same house in the 1700 block of Morton Avenue to investigate a noisy party. The first time at 7:39 p.m., partiers promised to turn down the volume; the second time at 9:50, officers made sure the music was turned off. Hours later, police investigated noise complaints in the 4300 block of El Camino Real and the 24000 block of Summerhill Avenue.

2.     1:31 p.m. Friday There was a hit-and run-accident at the intersection of El Camino Real and Showers Drive. There were no injuries reported.

3.     11:29 p.m. Saturday Police investigated a complaint about a disturbance on Arbuelo Way that turned out to be a loud dispute over a cellphone. Officers spoke to the arguers and resolved the issue.

4.     10:06 a.m. Saturday Officers assisted when a tree fell down in the 200 block of West Portola Avenue.

5.     5:56 p.m. Friday, and 11:19 a.m. Sunday A resident relinquished a weapon at the police station on Friday to be destroyed. On Sunday a resident turned in ammunition for destruction.
