Top 5 in Los Altos Crime: 911 Hangups, Suspicious Vehicle, Stranded Motorist and More

Mysterious calls to 911, and other happenings, dotted the police blotter in Los Altos yesterday.

1. 11:02 a.m., 3:44, 4:26, 6:55 p.m. Multiple calls to 911 from a cellphone, all hang-ups. All calls originated from the 2000 block of West El Camino Real. No emergency reported.

2. 1:50 p.m. Residential alarm sounded, in the 1200 block of Windimere Dr. Police responded but found no suspicious activity. The alarm was canceled by the alarm company.

3. 10:18 a.m. A stranded motorist called the police for help from South El Monte Avenue and Foothill Expressway.

4. 8:47 a.m. Someone called the police to report a suspicious vehicle near a residence near the corner of Fallen Leaf Lane and Holt Avenue. Police responded and determined the car belonged to a housecleaner working in the area.

5. 12:05 p.m. A caller reported that a traffic signal was out at Covington Road and Grant Road. Officers ordered repairs for the light.
